16. Google tools
Performing SEO without software tools is hardly justified. Tools that should absolutely not be
missing from the toolbox of the SEO are Google Search Console and Google Analytics. We will
discuss both tools.
16.1 Google Search Console
Google Search Console (GSC) iis a tool (in the form of a website) from Google that is indispensa-
ble for anyone involved in website management. This does not only include the web master,
but also the content manager and the marketing manager. Even if you have outsourced your
SEO to an external company, it is wise to use the Search Console.
To use Google Search Console, you must sign in with your Google account on the Search
Console website (Google on Google Search Console). If it is the first time you are visiting the
Search Console, the page is almost empty. You can add your website to the console via the Add
Property button.
Via ADD A PROPERTY you can add a website to Search .

In a number of subsequent steps, Google will establish that you are indeed the owner of the web-
site. When this is done, Google will fill the Search Console with information about your website.
Search Console (GSC) offers many functions and possibilities. We will mention some of them here:
• Through GSC you will receive email notifications from Google regarding viruses, spam, cra-
wl-in formation and other problems on your site.
• GSC helps you to analyse visitor traffic to your site.
• GSC helps to determine the effectiveness of your keywords.
• Check for "duplicate content
• You can define the url structure.
• Shows which pages have been crawled and when.
